The Heart and Gut Series (Part 1)

Join Georgia for 1, 2 or 3 creative flows and workshops that will look at the the negotiation of your heart and gut in your yoga practice. Sometimes we need to tap into our open loving heart; sometimes we need to tap into our wise intuition. The classes and workshops that make up the Heart and Gut Series are designed to build awareness around when to forge ahead and have faith versus when to ground down and listen. We will get on our mats, turn up the music, move through a creative (and FUN) sequence, sweat, and drop into a meditative empowering flow. THEN we will break down a specific set of postures that open and strengthen and work together to find authentic expressions of these postures that draw from the heart AND the gut.

BLUE LIGHT GLAMPING RETREAT

BLUE LIGHT GLAMPING RETREAT June 6 to June 9, 2019 with Georgia Reath.

A 4-day, 3-night Blue Light Yoga retreat glamping under starry skies in the pristine woods of mid-coast Maine.

Join Georgia for a very special trip to Tops’l Farm (https://www.topslfarm.com).  We will glamp together under the stars in canvas tents and A-frame cabins.  Upon waking we will have a cup of coffee together around the firepit outside our tents before walking through the woods to practice an OLD SCHOOL Blue Light Yoga class (you know...sweaty, creative, fun and full of flow) in a yurt heated by a wood-burning stove.  After yoga, we will eat a delicious farm-to-table meal.

In the afternoon, you can choose to meander along the river on the 83-acre property, explore nearby towns like Camden or Rockland, hike Mt. Battie, head to a nearby swimming hole, sign up for a massage, archery or training in outdoor survival skills, or maybe you would rather curl up in a quiet spot with your journal.  In the late afternoon (remember June days are long and full of light) we might gather again in the yurt for some combination of meditation, yoga, and breathwork.

A World of Pressure: Mothers, Daughters, and the Stories that Shape Us

November 14 to November 17 2019 with Katy Smith Abbott & Georgia Reath

A 3-night 4-day retreat in Shelburne Vermont for MOTHERS of daughters to LISTEN and LEARN and CONNECT and GROW through YOGA, STORY TELLING, and DISCUSSION.

Do you have a daughter?

If the answer is yes, then we invite you to join us on a very special retreat, where you will:

—Gain awareness around why our daughters are experiencing heightened levels of anxiety and stress in their everyday lives.

—Reflect on the specific pressures and challenges our daughters face or could face; what we are modeling for our daughters; and how we draw wisdom, hope and strength from our own stories.

—Acquire tools to help our daughters (and ourselves) navigate these pressures and challenges.

—Cultivate community, compassion, empathy, and resilience.

In coming together in the beautiful landscape of Shelburne Vermont, we will draw strength and insight from yoga, meditation, breath work, shared stories, the natural world, lectures and discussions, and nourishing locally-sourced meals.

Blue Light on the Eightfold Path with Georgia Reath

The richness of yoga is found when the practice follows you off your mat. For eight sessions over a four month period, join me every other week after my Monday 9:15 class to embark on an exploration of how to bring our yoga practice into our every day lives. Honing our understanding of our asana practice as a means to a greater end, the 9:15 class will lay the groundwork for a rich hour-long group discussion on how to find a greater sense of freedom and authenticity in our ego-driven culture.

Together we will read Dr. Mark Epstein’s latest book Advice Not Given: A Guide to Getting Over Yourself in which he uses the Eightfold Path as the road map for spiritual and psychological growth, a way to deal with the intractable ego. Each session will focus on a limb of the Eightfold Path: Right View, Right Motivation, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration.

Foreplay to Handstand

Foreplay to Handstand

The definition of foreplay is the action or behavior that precedes an event. In yoga, handstand is often in the limelight. But what about the actions and behaviors that precede and are necessary to attaining the inversion? In this two-hour workshop, we will explore the journey to rather then the destination of standing on your hands. The workshop will begin with a Blue Light flow specifically designed to prepare you (physically and mentally) to find or evolve your adho mukha vrksasana (handstand). The workshop will include intelligent sequencing, strength building exercises and space for discussion around personal injuries/challenges and/or resistance/fear.
